Great fun this weekend in a 1960 Bugeye Sprite for sale!

imageCongratulations Donnie! Heading soon to your garage in North Carolina right near those nice twisty roads!

New rib case transmission and new clutch installed! New! Decals removed! See new photos!

This is Hank, (AN5L 45348) a really nice driver that’s ready for fun. Hank was a recent Hamptons resident, where he enjoyed regular weekend workouts to Montauk and back. This car has had lots of recent mechanical work including a very recently rebuilt more powerful than stock 1098 engine (with less than 1500 miles), new clutch, starter motor, spin on oil filter upgrade, and oil cooler to help keep things cool on hot days.IMG_2716

The twin SU HS2 carburetors were rebuilt and are like new, and these are all big items to make Hank a great runner.

We recently went through the car and performed extensive additional maintenance to get Hank ready for a new home… we removed the rear tube shocks in favor of much more plush original lever shocks. The tube shock adaptors hang really low so we prefer to remove them. We also replaced all the hydraulic wheel cylinders to optimize the brake system and put in new felt bushings in the steering column. Next we installed one of our new ignition switch guillotines on the ignition switch to keep it tight in the dashboard. We put in a battery hold down for safety. And we replaced the exhaust system (which had a few leaks, and hung out way too far) with a good used stock set up. The tail pipe is a single original type now. Now Hank is better than ever!

There are a few minor cosmetic imperfections in the paint on this car so Hank’s a great choice for anyone who doesn’t want to be too fussy about the classic car in their garage. With this car you are investing in a lot of great mechanical work and upgrades in a sleek red package that looks great! The car is painted in a the original “cherry red” color which had the burgundy hue you see on the car, just like when it left the factory. It’s a great color on the car!

Hank has a tonneau, wind wings and an older top that works in a pinch-see photos. He also has side curtain cores that can be restored if desired. Remember that almost every one of our cars goes through a custom build-out for the new owner before delivery. We have a growing list of options available so you can build your Bugeye exactly the way you like!

The “Bugeye Baby” sticker on the back is optional, and can be easily removed if you prefer. PS-Tires are nearly new!

Send us an email if you would like to give Hank a good home!
