Fiona Flowers got her name when I picked up some gladiolas for Leslie at our local fresh flower stand. She’s a great driver, and ready for good fun and more flower runs (or weekends away from home, for that matter–I would take this car anywhere).
She looks great with either her chrome hubcaps or plain naked black wheels.
Fiona has a 1275 engine which had a recent valve job. Runs extremely well, shifts extremely well, and stops beautifully with upgraded disk brakes. New tires and very tight for a smooth ride. We’ve gone through the car and she drives beautifully. An ammeter is a nice addition on the dash. Comes with top, tonneau and side curtains. The cloth seats are not correct-they would have been vinyl when new- but are very nicely executed on the correct Bugeye seat frames– and if you don’t care about such details, these seats are in better shape than in most of the Bugeyes we meet.
Fiona is a Bugeye for a new owner who is not fussy about cosmetics or originality. The paint is good, not perfect-good enough for anyone who wants a fun car the kids can climb into or climb onto without having to stress about every fingerprint. Still, the car strikes an impressive appearance, and to most people Fiona is stunning!
And to drive Fiona is a dream!
