Today we welcome “Zoya” to our inventory of cars for sale.
Zoya enjoyed a comprehensive multi-year restoration in Oklahoma and has lived in dry climate all her life. The metal work is excellent, and the paint is also excellent– new and quite shiny and lustrous as you can see in the pictures. She is fit with a strong 948 engine fit in a nice clean engine bay. The engine is fit with larger HS2 twin SU carbs, for improved performance.
Brand new tires ride on the striking painted wire wheels, which are fit with brand new chrome knock-off spinners. She stops great with front disk brakes. The car is tight, rides well and fires right up.
The seats are new and she comes with a good top and sidecurtains. Chrome is excellent. Underside is solid and restored. This is a great car!
I have always admired black Bugeyes as the color always seems to look just right on these cars. It was correct for MGAs and Big Healeys built at the time in the same factory but it was not an original Bugeye color. I believe color choices were limited on Bugeyes mainly as a cost cutting measure, in an effort to keep the car’s new price at $1795. But black sure looks like it could have been original, and to me it makes the car look more elegant!
Zoya will need her transmission rebuilt before she leaves us for a new home, as the synchros are worn; shifting is not as smooth as it should be for such a nice car. We’ll pull the engine and replace the transmission with a newly rebuilt ribcase for the new owner– this will restore the gearbox to better than new condition. We have the parts in stock, and if you want to give Zoya a new home, we can deliver this lovely car to your garage once that service is complete.
