I’m partial to British racing green bugeyes– that’s the color I chose to paint my first Bugeye Gumby in 1979. And Corky looks fantastic– this color just looks right on the car.
Corky is a very solid car, formerly from dry Georgia, and it shows… there was minimal rust on this car, and whatever there was, when we completely restored this car, we cut out any rust and welded in new metal.
Then the car was painted in a striking shade of British Racing Green. Next we fit a brand new interior, including our new custom black carpet set that includes a trunk liner and brand new seats with contrasting light green piping. We also polished the cockpit trim and fit a new powdercoated windshield frame and stanchions.
It’s all beautiful!
We completely rebuilt the front end, and replaced the king pins and fit new disk brakes in front. The car drives great with a strong 948 engine upgraded with an electronic fuel pump and single weber downdraft carburetor.
The engine bay is detailed in BRG and the engine is painted in contrasting green. All the rubber is new on the car, as are the grill and bumpers.
This is a great car! I’ll have more pictures soon, (in the meantime you can click to enlarge these) we are not quite finished, but I wanted to share this stunning Bugeye for anyone looking for an excellent restored car!
