This is “Cosmo,” one of the nicest 1960 Bugeyes you will find! Cosmo is now sold and will soon headed to Michigan. Congratulations Steve!
He won first place honors at the 2007 national Austin Healey conclave in Burlington, Vermont after an extensive multi-year restoration by a leading British resto shop. Here’s a rare opportunity to own a car that has been lovingly restored to a very high standard and finished in correct leaf green with painted wire wheels.
Cosmo comes with Gerry Coker’s signature on the inner fender, and the video below is a tribute to Gerry’s amazing contribution to automotive sculpture. Of course he drew the Bugeye in 1956 for Donald Healey… but he also drew the Austin Healey 100/4 in 1952, the first in a line of so many lovely big healeys. My Burgundy and cream 100/4 (which is also now for sale) makes a guest appearance in this video, as we celebrate Gerry Coker’s work, and re-introduce Cosmo for sale.
NEW VIDEO-Take Cosmo around the block!
The car also features the dashboard signature of Brian “Bic” Healey, Donald Healey’s son.
Cosmo was highlighted in a feature story in Hemmings Sports and Exotic Car Magazine in 2008. You can read the story of the car’s restoration and read about the modifications made to the car by pasting the url link below:

I owned this car briefly in early 2011, and sold it to one of our best customers. This Bugeye was the start of his British collection, and he went on to purchase (all from us!) a Tr3a, MGA coupe, MGA roadster, Morris Traveler and another Bugeye (Shelby). All of his cars receive the best of care-stored in a fantastic custom heated garage and are driven infrequently. His collection is always changing, and so he recently decided to sell me this car so he could make room in his collection for the next acquisition.
The car was driven less than 500 miles by the last owner (since the video below was made). Cosmo now carries new side curtain and top pouches, and is ready to show and go, and to make a new owner very happy! This is a really nice car with great drivability upgrades like 1275 engine, disk brakes, three point belts, air horn, better cam, exhaust header, k and n lifetime air filters and more. Also of note is a brilliant remote slave cylinder bleeder under the hood for easier access if you ever need to bleed the clutch. Cosmo is sold without a hardtop, although we do have several hardtops available and for sale.
Cosmo is a great Bugeye for anyone who wants the best, and who wants extra performance for regular and spirited driving. Call or email for pricing information or with questions! And check out the video tour of the car below… this video was shot at the beginning of 2011, after we just moved into our current facility. Now with 107 Bugeyes sold, we have grown so much since then! And after driving all 107 of those Bugeyes, I can say with confidence that this one is one of the best!
