This car is sold and will soon head to a new home in Pennsylvania. Congratulations Bill!
I really love 100/4s, and this is an unmolested stock BN2. So many people put on the louvered bonnets and leather straps, and it is somewhat refreshing to find a car that has no M aspirations. This car is just the way it would have left the factory, in stock BN2 garb, and in stock reno red.
This particular car was owned by the same person since about 1985, when the car was completely restored by Fourintune Garage in Wisconsin. I have an appraisal from 1985 on their letterhead certifying that the car has the original matching original 2660 cc 4 cylinder engine and overdrive transmission. The engine and transmission were completely rebuilt at that time and I have all receipts for that complete restoration.
In 2010, the car received new tires and a valve job with hardened seats to run unleaded gas, as well as complete and comprehensive servicing (new hydraulic components, new stainless exhaust, etc). I have all documentation for this work as well.
Underside was restored as needed with some welding masterfully done to outriggers done in 1985 by Fourintune. The underside is very solid, these repairs are excellent and there is no rust on the car.
Fourintune also put in correct leather seat covers in 1985, and they still look great.
The overdrive works flawlessly and the car is a delight to drive, with the original four speed transmission. Overall, this is a very solid car that still shines beautifully, with a very good interior. The car has a few very minor paint chip touch ups and is not perfect, but extremely nice. This is a perfect driver that will also win shows everywhere, not because of perfection, but because it all fits together and is lightly used and looks just right.
