Congratulations Harry! Soon this car will be Texas bound!
This is a fantastic car and a rare opportunity to own a wonderful Michelotti designed British car.
It’s got a solid rear axle (which I prefer to IRS) and drives great. The car appears to have under 70k original miles. It was resprayed once and is solid with zero rust. This was a southern car that had lived in Georgia and then South Carolina. The fellow from whom I purchased it had driven only a few thousand miles since his purchase in 1982.
We did some light floor repair, there were a few pin holed areas which we cut out and replaced with welded in steel. You can see in the underside photos, this is a good solid car. Bob also welded in one small patch on the passenger side inner rocker panel under the car. Looks great!
It was parked in a warehouse for at least 11 years when I found it and we have since done a major mechanical restoration to get the car back on the road. We changed the clutch and brake master cylinders, slave cylinder and hose, rear brake wheel cylinders, calipers, rotors, and pads. We drained the fuel, changed the filters, rebuilt the stromberg carbs, and it fired right up. She drives great! Engine is strong with no smoke and great oil pressure. Four speed transmission ( non overdrive) works great!
The car has a decent top — older- and great glass. Interior is very good. Everything is just right. The car feels great, clean and shiny, not too perfect, a great driver that will be fun to share anywhere you go.
I believe these cars are quite special because of their unique design. This is a rare car because there is no rust underneath, no silly modifications, excellent dashboard (often cracked) low mileage and just plain fun! All gauges work. Pancake air filters are included, they were just removed so we could tune and synch the carbs. We recently changed the motor and transmission mounts and put in a new brake light switch.
This is a wonderful and inexpensive way to get into classic car collecting with a timeless design that is sure to appreciate! Call or email with questions!
