Way back in 1979 I needed a straight door for my Bugeye “Gumby” but could only find a later sprite door with extra holes for the late-type of door liner. Now that Gumby is getting rebuilt, it’s time to weld-up those holes, so that the inside of the door looks correct.
In this photo, Russ does the work to make this car wonderful once again. Each hole was welded shut and ground, so that the bodyshop can fill and paint. This is a small detail I have lived with for more than 30 years, but now it’s time to address these small details for the best final product.
